Christine Brown reflected on the end of her 25-year marriage to Kody Brown during a conversation with Meri Brown on the Nov. 1 episode of Sister Wives

She recalled telling Kody he was no longer welcome in her bedroom after he admitted he wasn’t attracted to her

Christine also revealed that Kody’s decision not to attend their daughter Ysabel’s back surgery was the biggest factor in her decision to leave

Christine Brown knew when it was time to stop sharing a bedroom with Kody Brown.

During the Nov. 1 episode of Sister Wives, Christine reflected on the breakdown of her 25-year marriage to Kody, with whom she shares six kids, during a candid conversation with his fellow ex-wife Meri Brown.

“As far as like me leaving, it was a process, because I still felt like I had my values, which were commitment, marriage, whatever,” Meri said. “And I thought that he would come around. But I don’t regret how long it took me, because I feel like I grew so much through the process.”

Christine was on the same page. “I didn’t know I had to leave until I knew it was time to go, and then I left.”

One thing that led to her decision, she told Meri, was when Kody refused to come to Ysabel’s back surgery. “That was the biggest [thing]. I was like, I can’t be married to this guy anymore. He just says, in front of Ysabel’s face, ‘I can’t leave my family that long.’ And she was like, ‘I thought we were family.’ ”

Meri herself also played a role, Christine revealed, as she recalled a season 10 conversation where she told Meri, “I can’t do marriage with Kody anymore.”

Meri tried to console Christine in the moment by telling her to look at the view, and Christine recalled, “I was thinking — I know you were talking, you were probably saying beautiful things — but what I was thinking was, ‘I don’t want what I have, and I don’t want what you have, and I don’t care about those mountains anymore.’ ”

“He wasn’t attracted to me. He wasn’t interested,” she said of what Kody told her at the time. “And he came over, and he starts going up the stairs. I said, ‘What are you doing?’ And he’s like, ‘Well, I’m gonna go to bed.’ I’m like, ‘Your bed’s not here. You have to leave.’ ”

When Kody asked where his bedroom was, Christine told him, “I don’t know. It’s not here. That’s my bedroom. The only person allowed in there is me, ‘cause I actually wanna be with me.”

Christine announced her split from Kody after 25 years together on Instagram in 2021. “After more than 25 years together, Kody and I have grown apart and I have made the difficult decision to leave,” she wrote. “We will continue to be a strong presence in each other’s lives as we parent our beautiful children and support our wonderful family. At this time, we ask for your grace and kindness as we navigate through this stage within our family.”

In 2023, she tied the knot with David Woolley. She told PEOPLE at the time that it was a “fairytale” romance and “everything I never thought I would have.”

Sister Wives airs on Sundays at 10 p.m. ET on TLC.
