Ric Flair is recovering in the hospital after a fall outside a restaurant in Florida.
The retired WWE legend, 77, was injured in a fall outside Wagamama in Tampa on Friday, Oct. 23, TMZ reported. The incident occurred hours after Ric revealed on Instagram that an upcoming appearance was being canceled due to a blood clot in his leg.
In photos obtained by TMZ, Ric is seen lying on his back while surrounded by medical staff. He is also pictured being transported into an ambulance.
Ric left his phone and drink behind as he walked across the street after visiting the restaurant that morning, per the outlet. He reportedly cut his head in the fall and his eye was “bleeding extensively.”

Ric’s daughter, WWE wrestler Charlotte Flair, shared an update on his condition in a post on X on Saturday, Oct. 24.
“Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of warrior dropping him on his head … (ps: he’s going to be ok),” she wrote.
Also on Oct. 24, Ric shared a photo of himself sitting in a chair with a bandage over his eye. “Thank You All For The Messages And Prayers! I Will Get Back To You Each Individually As I Get Stronger,” he wrote in the caption of his Instagram post.
“Thank You To All The Tampa General Hospital Staff And Doctors That Put Up With Me Until 4:30am. I Appreciate You All And Thank You For Everything You Did For Me! I Am Focused On My Healing And Recovery Right Now. I Will Be Okay,” added Ric.
The wrestling legend previously shared a lengthy post about his health, hours before he fell.
“I want to sincerely apologize to my agent, Steve Solomon … and especially all my fans in Seattle for having to cancel my scheduled appearance,” said Ric. “Unfortunately, I am dealing with a blood clot in my leg, and my doctors have limited my travel to 3–4 hours. Seattle falls outside that range, and as disappointed as I am, I have to put my health and recovery first.”
“Blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening. We have seen this recently with Jalen Hurts and the complications involving blood clots in his lungs,” he continued. “It is a reminder that this is not something to take lightly, and I must follow medical advice.”

Ric said that he is scheduled to undergo a procedure “to strip the affected vein,” which will hopefully allow him to travel more and continue with his work commitments.
“Please know this decision was not made lightly. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment, and I am incredibly grateful for your patience, understanding, and continued support,” he concluded.
Ric has had numerous health issues throughout the years.
In June 2025, the former wrestling star revealed to PEOPLE he had skin cancer for “the second time in three years.” Ric announced in an Instagram post a month later that he was “cancer-free.”
PEOPLE has reached out to Ric’s representative for comment.
